Public spending and federalism

This research, conducted by Unioncamere Veneto and the Veneto Regional Council through the Observatory on Federalism and Public Spending, has beeen carried out with the support of the Regional Department for Economic and Institutional Development. The aim of the work is to investigate the relation between public debt and economic competitiveness. Through a series of economic estimates , it is argued that , simply by imitating the fiscal structure of Germany, Italy’s main trade partner, our Country will save an amount of money equal to 2% of its GDP (i.e. more than 26 billion euros each year).
